The Birth and Rebirth of all Fantasy…

So Jason Pitzl-Waters over at the Wild Hunt Blog has posted about a number of interesting new movies with some Pagan themes running through them.

I am not as intrigued with the Pagan themes as much as I am with the wealth of Fantasy and Science-Fiction coming out of the entertainment industry… especially in the last few years, movie-wise.

I find myself wondering if we as a society are finally beginning to work our way through the threads of millennial angst that seemed to dominate things for a few years there? I believe that anything that stirs the imagination brings one closer to the Powers and Principalities that created and maintain our universe. Actually engaging in the Creative act helps one to touch the hand and heart of the Creatrix or Creator.

I think the fact that people are so willing to spend their time and hard earned money on these grandly imaginative works is a sign of hope. My next thought is what we as Pagans can do to encourage this imagination, this creativity, this dreaming of a different day.

I do not advocate escape-ism as much as I seek to encourage people to envision the world they would like to live in and to try and make it real.

Idealistically yours,
Pax
